GIBEON | XERJOFF
Xerjoff had a really pretty campaign running on Instagram for their Shooting Stars collection, specifically for the Gibeon fragrance release, between January 19 to February 9, 2026. Peaceful, serene, with a bit of suspense. Those were the key emotions I observed throughout, and there was a particular shot that really caught my eye, so I went ahead and recreated it in Blender while adding some personal touches of my own.
I kept the asteroid and stars background to stay consistent with the original campaign's art direction, along with the color themes from the reference. What I did differently though: I tightened the asteroid geometry and added space on the sides to draw more focus to the bottle, redesigned the asteroid to curve near the tip of the bottle since the smooth flow of it just felt really pleasing, and reworked the glass material entirely. Looking up real-life references showed the bottle is a lot more transparent and glass-like compared to the more opaque look in their official reels, so I went with something closer to that. Playing around with different lighting setups led to some really interesting internal glass refractions that gave the bottle a nice pop and helped it stand out as the subject.
The second part of this project was the animation, which took about 12 days to finish. Xerjoff's original film already felt perfect in its dramatic-reveal direction, so rather than recreating it, I wanted to add on to what they already had. I focused on a simple showcase of the fragrance notes I wanted to highlight, specifically the rose, orange blossoms (neroli), and the Gibeon meteorite. I also wanted neroli to be the star of the show since it's one of the top notes, which is why I started the first few scenes in black and white, then let the color hit suddenly with the orange blossoms in scene five and the final scene. The contrast between the two just felt like a really nice touch, and honestly I just liked the look of it too, so I went for it.
Lots of lessons learned along the way and had a good time with this one. Will be working on improving in the next.
